South Nashville-based vinyl record manufacturer and distributor United Record Pressing LLC — one of only a handful of businesses of its type remaining in the United States — announced today it will expand its operations after having acquired a building located at 451-481 Allied Drive.
The purchase price was not disclosed in a release.
Pinnacle Financial Partners is providing financing for the acquisition of the 142,000-square-foot facility, which is located approximately 10 miles from the airport and downtown.
Matt Woodard and Tee Patterson of Chas. Hawkins Co., Inc./CORFAC International represented the buyer and seller in the transaction.
United Record Pressing officials said the facility will satisfy the company’s need to accommodate increased demand from vinyl enthusiasts. It will also streamline processes to improve quality and customer service. United will remain in its building at 453 Chestnut St.
“We are proud to be making this investment in the Nashville community and appreciate all of the support we have received,” Mark Michaels, United CEO, said in the release. “We are excited to build upon our great heritage and continue to manufacture innovative, high-quality vinyl records in the USA.”
Established in 1949, United Record Pressing has operated in the same building located near Greer Stadium in Wedgewood-Houston since 1962. The company pressed the first Beatles seven-inch record in America and many Motown classics. Most recently, it has pressed, among others, Blunderbuss by Jack White.
