VUMC partners with NJ company for EHR support

Hospital system looks to hit next meaningful use targets

Vanderbilt University Medical Center has contracted to use Princeton, N.J.-based CitiusTech to support its electronic health record usage initiatives.

Through the agreement, terms of which were not disclosed in a release, CitiusTech will support VUMC's Meaningful Use Stage 2 program, in which the hospital complex will look to meet the necessary criteria to qualify for incentives through the federal Medicare and Medicaid Electronic Health Record Incentive Program.

"We chose CitiusTech's BI-Clinical as it enables us to meet our needs for Meaningful Use, while providing the opportunity for future expansion across other reporting requirements," said Blackford Middleton, VUMC's chief information officer. "The cloud-deployed BI-Clinical solution can be customized and integrated with our internal reporting tools, providing a unified experience within our organization."
