The state's grocery trade association has a new president and CEO.
Rob Ikard, former state director for the National Federation of Independent Business and most recently a staffer for Secretary of State Tre Hargett, will take the lead for the Tennessee Grocers' & Convenience Store Association, according to a release. Ikard (pictured) fills the position previously held by Jarron Springer, who left the association in January.
"At this time of great momentum for our association, we are particularly excited to engage a new president with Rob's experience and management abilities," said Tony Barham Chairman of the TGCSA Board of Directors and director of store operations with Best Wade/Litco Petroleum. "Rob has our full confidence, and we look forward to this next chapter in TGCSA’s history."
Ikard, a Nashville native, holds a bachelor's degree from Southern Methodist University.
"It is humbling to be chosen for this critical role in an association that recently has made such great strides," he said. "I look forward to working with the association’s members for the betterment of this vital industry."
