Italian tile company selects Lebanon for U.S. operations

TecnoTiles eyes 60 jobs at Wilson County site

Tile-finishing company TecnoTiles Inc. will invest about $3 million in Lebanon to establish a U.S. operations base, state and Wilson County officials have announced.

Roberto Ternali, a TecnoTiles official, said the company intends to hire about 20 people initially and eyes about 60 employees within five years. It will operate from the South Perimeter Industrial Park.

Earlier this year, Italian companies Tecnoceramica Srl and Uptiles Srl created TecnoTiles as a U.S. joint venture. The company will provide tile-finishing services to U.S.-based ceramic and porcelain tile manufacturers, according to a news release.

The move follows Mohawk Industries’ announcement in March it will investing $180 million to establish a ceramic tile manufacturing and distribution facility in Dickson County. (Read more here.)
