Bridgestone promotes veteran employee to lead U.S., Canada tire sales

Company's commercial solutions ex-president also to serve as senior VP

Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations today announced that Kurt Danielson has been promoted to president of U.S. and Canada commercial tire sales.

In addition, Danielson, who has served as Bridgestone Commercial Solutions president since 2011, has been tapped as senior vice president of Bridgestone Americas, Inc.

Danielson will oversee all BATO business operations within the commercial tire portfolio, including growing market share, identifying and bringing to market new products and services, creating business efficiencies and developing personnel, the company said in a release.

Danielson will report to Gordon Knapp, CEO and president of Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations.

“Kurt Danielson brings a rich history, deep knowledge base and strong leadership skills to his new position,” Knapp said in the release. “Under his leadership [of Bridgestone Commercial Solutions], he has successfully overseen a smooth transition of two internal divisions while realizing sustained and solid growth in the commercial tire market. Kurt is a strong leader who will continue to guide us toward greater opportunities in the future.”
Danielson joined Bridgestone in 1994 as a territory manager.

Danielson earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing from the University of Michigan.
