Bass Berry adds to leadership team

Two named to executive committee, Memphis office gets new leader

Brant Phillips and David Thornton are the newest members of Bass Berry & Sims' executive committee.

Phillips, left in our photo, chairs the firm’s securities and shareholder litigation group and focuses on class action defense, derivative actions and other complex business litigation. As a member of the firm’s government advocacy group, he also represents clients in administrative and regulatory proceedings. For the past three years, he was chair of the firm’s marketing ad business development committee.

Thornton is chair of the firm's employee benefits practice. During his 30-year career, he has focused on various aspects of employee benefits law and has been recently working with clients to ensure compliance with the Affordable Care Act.

In addition, Richard Spore has been named managing partner of Bass' 54-person Memphis office. A commercial real estate specialist, he has more than 25 years of experience.
