SCORE promotes four-year employee to executive VP

Former political consultant to focus on advocacy, communications, outreach

The State Collaborative on Reforming Education (SCORE) has promoted David Mansouri to executive vice president.

In his new role, Mansouri (pictured) will manage efforts across a variety of work streams including advocacy, communications and outreach for the education research institute, according to a release.

"David Mansouri is a bright star in Tennessee's work to dramatically improve student achievement," said Jamie Woodson, SCORE president and CEO. "He has played key and influential roles in our twofold mission to help Tennessee become the fastest-improving state for student academic achievement and to help Tennessee ensure that every student graduates from high school prepared for college and the work force."

Mansouri, a graduate of Rice University, joined SCORE in 2010 as director of advocacy and communications. Previously, he worked in public relations and political consulting, including for U.S. Sen. Fred Thompson and the Tennessee Republican Party.
