Another big Cool Springs mixed-use project may be in the cards

200-acre site could be home to retail, residential ... and sports training?

The 200-acre home of a nonprofit could be the site of the next big Cool Springs mixed-use project.

Located at the intersection of Mack Hatcher Parkway and Cool Springs Boulevard, The Refuge at Cool Springs currently describes itself as "a non-profit ministry" that strives to develop "future superstars" who will "excel in their sport, but also grow in knowledge and understanding of ... Jesus Christ."

Now, its backers are in the preliminary stages of exploring an opportunity to develop a mixed-use project that would include retail, restaurant, residential and office components in addition to youth sports training facilities. On board for the athletic component, pictured below, is the nonprofit American Youth Football organization.

Early plans call for green space, tennis courts, walking trails, golf training and sports fields, with a connection to the Vanderbilt Legends Club just north.
