Officials with national retailer American Girl today announced plans to open a store at CoolSprings Galleria.
The 9,000-square-foot retail space is slated to open in spring 2015 and will be part of the redevelopment at the south end of the center, according to a release. CBL & Associates Properties, Inc., owns the Williamson County-based mall.
The American Girl store, which will be the first in Tennessee, will offer the company’s historical and contemporary dolls, along with doll outfits, accessories, girl-sized clothing and American Girl books. In addition, the space will allow customers to enjoy a meal and celebrate a birthday in its casual 25-seat Bistro, "treat their dolls to a new hairdo" in the Doll Hair Salon or design a doll-sized T-shirt in the “Creativi-Tees” boutique. Various girl-and-mom-friendly events and programs will also be offered throughout the year, the release notes.
The American Girl retail store located within the nearest geographic proximity to Nashville is in Atlanta. Of note, Nashville will be the smallest metro area by population to offer an American Girl.
"American Girl is selective when choosing retail locations so we are pleased with their decision to open their third store in the CBL mall portfolio and look forward to another successful addition to CoolSprings Galleria,” Stephen Lebovitz, CBL president and chief executive officer, said in a release.
American Girl, a division of Mattel Inc., opened its flagship store in Chicago in 1998. Today, it operates retail sites in 16 major U.S. cities.
