New GM named for WSM

Four-decade industry veteran to take over later this month

Ryman Hospitality Properties executives have found their new general manager of storied radio station WSM in Randy Bush.

Bush, who will start in his new job later this month, has almost four decades of experience in the radio industry. Most recently, he was sales manager for regional chain Cherry Creek Radio in Great Falls, Mont. Before that, he was GM at stations in Little Rock and Tulsa.

“I’m delighted to welcome Randy to 650 AM WSM,” said Steve Buchanan, president of the Opry Entertainment division of Ryman. “He brings with him the experience, creativity, and passion needed to succeed in one of the most unique positions anywhere in country radio. Randy sees a world of opportunity at WSM and he is excited about continuing the station’s great legacy.”

Bush will fill the spot vacated last fall by Tom English, who left the radio home of the Grand Ole Opry after less than two years in charge.
