Growler concept slated for former Hostess Building

The Beer Pale first announced tenant at 42nd and Charlotte

The redevelopment project of the former Hostess building located at 42nd Avenue and Charlotte Pike has secured its first tenant.

The Beer Pale — a "beer-centric gathering place offering great food and a relaxing environment" according to its website — will offer craft beer by the pint, in growlers and in bottles and cans, along with appetizers, small plates and sandwiches.

A Facebook post says progress is in a "holding pattern" while the building — purchased by Commercial Realty Services for $800,000 last summer — is built out. An $860,000 building permit for the property was issued last fall.

Once completed, the former commercial baking facility will be expanded by 1,000 square feet and include four tenant spaces.
