CapStar adds First Advantage veteran

Hendersonville commercial lender had overseen Clarksville bank’s Nashville push

CapStar Bank has hired a former senior vice president of First Advantage Bank as it continues to build out its Sumner County presence.

Brian Denney has joined downtown-based CapStar as a VP and commercial relationship manager and is based in the bank’s Hendersonville office, one of the two sites CapStar took over when it bought American Security Bank & Trust a year ago. At Clarksville-based First Advantage, Denney was director of Metro banking and oversaw the company’s de novo expansion into Nashville, opening a West End loan office and a branch on Highway 96 in Franklin.

Before his time at First Advantage, Denney worked in business banking at First Tennessee Bank, BBVA Compass Bank in Birmingham and AmSouth/Regions Bank in Bessemer, Ala.

CapStar’s Sumner County operations had a deposit market share of almost 6 percent in the summer of 2012. Across the Nashville MSA, the bank ranked 10th in deposit market share.
