Iron Solutions adding to Cool Springs space

Ag/construction equipment data company hiring big in IT

Iron Solutions, the company that compiles data for dealers of agriculture and construction equipment, has doubled its Cool Springs office space and is bulking up its technology staff as it shifts its business from directories to software.

Iron Solutions, which moved its headquarters to Franklin in 2010, is now leasing 12,000 square feet — about two-thirds — of the three-story office building at 660 Bakers Bridge Ave., just east of Interstate 65. Company officials say they plan to hire at least two dozen software and application developers, support staff and professional services team members. Those hires will help the company, which began life as a publisher of guides used to set agriculture and construction equipment values, launch and refine enterprise and web-based tech offerings.

"With the types of data-driven technology tools and applications that we have brought to market and continue to develop, we are looking for the best developers and support people we can find," said Scott Derksen, chief information officer for Iron Solutions. "We had to expand our headquarters facility in order to accommodate this added staff."

Iron Solutions will have nearly 70 employees in Franklin once it adds the IT staffers it is looking to bring on. The company also has an office in Fenton, Mo., that focuses on publishing its IRON Guides.
