Retail and distribution giant Amazon announced Monday it will add a total of 5,000 jobs at 17 of its fulfillment centers nationwide.
The company said that its facilities in Murfreesboro and Chattanooga will be included in this expansion. A company spokesperson told NashvillePost.com the Rutherford County facility has "more than 1,000 employees ... and we're actively hiring for more than a hundred open positions currently."
The jobs are expected to be full-time and — in an interesting bit of timing — their announcement comes the day before President Barack Obama visits Amazon's Chattanooga facility.
