Bridgestone names new communications VP

Tire maker brings on longtime Dow Chemical exec

Bridgestone Americas has recruited a Dow Chemical executive to be its new communications vice president.

Paul Oakley comes to Nashville-based Bridgestone after working for more than 12 years in several roles at Dow, most recently as director of global communications and regional public and government affairs. On July 22, he will take over the job previously held by Dan MacDonald, who last year moved to Dollar General.

At Dow, Oakley led teams and programs that supported businesses based in Philadelphia, Sao Paulo, Zurich and Houston. Before his time at the company, he was account director at Corporate Technology Communications in Chicago and held various roles at Gibbs and Soell Business Communications in Chicago.
