Brentwood Planning asked to OK Synergy Park hotel and retail

Plan at Boyle project calls for Hilton Garden Inn, 62,000 square feet of retail

The Brentwood Planning Commission will vote tonight to approve the hospitality and retail components of Boyle Investment's renovation of Synergy Business Park.

The plan calls for a 126-room Hilton Garden Inn and the first phase of an eventual 62,000 square-foot retail component at the property on Franklin Road. The first phase will include six buildings and 39,000 square feet.

The project includes a "village green" in front of the business park's centerpiece — the historic Mooreland Mansion. The 76,000-square-foot hotel will be built as a "wrapper" of sorts around the 19th-century home.

Boyle paid $62.8 million for the 33-acre, eight-building office park — built in the 1980s — in early 2012. Its redevelopment plans for Synergy Business Park will make the property resemble its from-the-ground-up work at Meridian in Cool Springs.
