Healthways has added Arizona-based Fitness 19 to its growing group of clients wanting to implement its fitness programs the Franklin-based company offers.
The SilverSneakers Fitness and Prime Fitness programs are now available at more than 125 Fitness 19 in 24 states from the West Coast through the Midwest and Mid-Atlantic. Both programs help Medicare enrollees and others improve their health and fitness through exercise.
“Fitness 19 is an important addition to our network of fitness centers, as this collaboration will provide our members with greater access to a supportive and inspiring fitness environment,” Bruce Jerde, Healthways' vice president of provider network and data administration, said in a statement.
Shares of Healthways (Ticker: HWAY) were up slightly to about $17 in mid-day Thursday trading. Year to date, they've risen more than 50 percent, helped in part by a very bullish note earlier this month by William Blair analyst Ryan Daniels.
