Just one word: Italian company chooses Lebanon for Americas HQ

SO.F.TER. investing $11.5M in project's first phase

Italian plastics manufacturer SO.F.TER. GROUP announced it will locate its Americas headquarters in Lebanon.

The new building will be located on 21 acres off State Route 109 — near the Martha Music City Star Station — and represents an $11.5 million investment and the creation of 50 new jobs. Ultimately, the local payroll is expected to top 150.

The SO.F.TER. GROUP is one of the world’s largest independent compounders with headquarters in Forlì, southeast of Bologna. The company’s Lebanon site will first be constructed at 100,000 square feet, but will eventually be expanded to more than 250,000 square feet. (See rendering below.) It will be dedicated to the production, development and sale of engineering plastics. SO.F.TER. expects to have a Americas presence in the automotive, appliance, construction and electrical markets.

The debut of SO.F.TER. on the U.S. plastics market will take place in October with a presentation at the SPE Automotive Conference in Detroit.
