Nashville-based Disney Music Publishing announced today that Patrick Clifford has been named vice president of music publishing and A&R.
Mio Vukovic, Disney Music Group senior vice president of A&R and creative, said in a release that Clifford will be responsible for the company’s catalog of existing songs and provide “creative direction, leadership and growth” of the DMP writer roster. He will also oversee A&R functions for DMP in Nashville.
Clifford (pictured) most recently served as vice president of A&R for Nashville-based Ten Ten Music Group, holding the post since 2005. He began his career with artists James Taylor and Cat Stevens at Nemperor Artists. Relatedly, he discovered and recorded The Romantics at Nemperor Records.
Clifford also served in the A&R departments of A&M, Capitol, Chrysalis, and Epic, working with the Miami Sound Machine, Blues Traveler and the Neville Brothers. He would go on to serve as a senior A&R executive with BMG, with his tenure there marked by work with Etta James and Ziggy Marley, among others.
“Patrick’s stellar career speaks for itself,” Vukovic said in the release. “As an A&R man with companies like A&M Records, Capitol, BMG and Ten Ten Music Group, he led the charge, finding and developing great artists and songwriters. He’s going to be a tremendous asset for us, not only in Nashville but globally as well.”
