Bridgestone names new division president

Former Kimberly Clark official to replace Magee

Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations announced today that Gordon Knapp has been name president of the company’s tire division.

Knapp succeeds Larry Magee, who previously announced his retirement and will be leaving the company after 38 years of service to Bridgestone Americas on July 31.

Knapp will relocate to Nashville from his current home in Wisconsin and begin his job June 17.

“Throughout his career, Gordon has shown commitment to delivering value to consumers through innovation, a focus on results and a passion for operational excellence,” Eduardo Minardi, Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations chairman, CEO and president, said in a release.

“We look forward to Gordon’s contributions as we take Consumer Tire to the next level.”

Knapp served as president of Kimberly Clark’s consumer tissue division. He also has held leadership positions in consumer product for Pfizer and Warner-Lambert.
