Williams to spearhead Opry group push into brand expansion, partnerships

The general manager of the Ryman Auditorium has been promoted to a corporate role at Opry and Attractions Group as parent company Ryman Hospitality Properties looks to further build up the brands of its flagship Ryman and Grand Ole Opry performance venues.

Sally Williams’ new title at Opry and Attractions Group is vice president of business and partnership development. Williams has been the Ryman’s GM since 2008 and will continue in that role.

“Sally has done a tremendous job leading the Ryman Auditorium business and she has grown public and music industry regard for the treasured and perennially awarded venue,” said Steve Buchanan, president of Opry Entertainment Group. “In her newly expanded role, she will also focus on intellectual property development, brand expansion opportunities and strategic brand partnerships for the Opry Entertainment Group franchise.”

Williams joined what is now Ryman Hospitality in 1999 and spent seven years managing concerts and other events for the Opry Entertainment Complex. During her time at the Ryman, the venue has received numerous top-level awards and finished 2012 15th nationally in the theater category of Pollstar Magazine’s ticket sales rankings.
