BNA Wine hires industry veteran

COO has worked at number of big names

BNA Wine Group has named as COO a wine industry veteran who has worked at some of the biggest names in the sector.

Mark Castaldi is overseeing the finances, supply chain, grower relations, grape procurement and vendor contracts for BNA Wine, which was launched last year by John Hooper. Castaldi has more than 20 years experience in the wine, beverage and food industries. Among his titles have been either COO or general manager for Sonoma Wine, Schug Winery, Constellation Wine, Kendall-Jackson Wine Estates and Beringer Wine Estates.

“Mark is extremely well-connected in the wine industry and his operations experience will be invaluable as we take our young company to the next level,” said Hooper. “With Mark onboard, we’ll have the solid operational foundation from which to expand our wine portfolio and distribution network.”

Castaldi is based in St. Helena, Calif., in Napa Valley.

Hooper last year sold the Tennessee Wine and Spirits distributorship to launch BNA Wine with Little Lion Wine founder and winemaker Tony Leonardini and sales executive Gary Carr. The company has five wines in its portfolio.
