Breakfast/brunch chain plans Cool Springs spot

Florida-based concept entered local market two years ago

Breakfast, brunch and lunch restaurant operator First Watch has picked Cool Springs for its second Nashville-area location and plans to open that store late this year.

Florida-based First Watch set up its first local shop in the Peartree Village center anchored by Harris Teeter in Brentwood. Its second location will take up to 3,350 square feet in an end-cap space in the retail center adjacent to the new Drury Plaza Hotel located at Interstate 65 and McEwen Drive.

“This has been a great market for us,” said Chris Tomasso, chief marketing officer for First Watch, which runs about 100 restaurants in 13 states. “We will continue to seek opportunities to bring our fresh approach […] to even more residents as we expand throughout Nashville and the state of Tennessee.”

Tomasso and his team plan to open three to five more restaurants in coming years around Nashville and have their eye on Green Hills, Belle Meade and the West End corridor. Each restaurant is expected to employ about 25 local workers.

The company earlier this year signed a multi-unit franchise agreement with Knoxville-based Capstone Concepts to open eight restaurants over the next five years in in Knoxville, Chattanooga, Bristol, Kingsport and Johnson City as well as Asheville, N.C., and Bowling Green, Ky.
