Nashville-based retail developer Mark Banks is “officially underway” on a small hotel to be located next to the Station Inn in the Gulch.
Banks, president of Retail Partners Development, is rehabbing the 12th Avenue cinderblock building to accommodate a five-room boutique hotel.
In addition, Banks’s team will construct an approximately 700-square-foot building that will be positioned between the sidewalk and the existing cinderblock structure, the address for which is 404 12th Ave. S. The plan is to have a restaurant occupy the new building (see image of both the hotel and restaurant below).
“On the restaurant side, we are working on the menu and interior design,” Banks said. “We have a rooftop herb/vegetable garden for the restaurant.”
The Bradley Development Group is serving as general contractor, while Nashville-based DA|AD is the architect.
“[For the hotel], we’re working on interior design and furniture/products sourcing with Nick Dryden of DA|AD,” Banks said.
Relatedly, Chattanooga-based Vision Hospitality is fully underway on its Fairfield Inn hotel (read about here) to be located on Division Street across from Yazoo Brewing Co.
