The Mall at Green Hills hires general manager
The Mall at Green Hills has named retail veteran and Nashville native Kimberly Savona as general manager.
She replaces Hank Woerner.
Savona (pictured) assumes the post Feb. 11 and will be responsible for all shopping center operations as well as retailer and community relations, marketing and sponsorship at the upscale retail mall.
Savona has spent the past 23 years with Michigan-based Taubman Centers, which owns and/or operates 27 high-end shopping centers across the country, including The Mall at Green Hills, which it purchased in 2011. Most recently, Savona was general manager of Great Lakes Crossing Outlets in Auburn Hills, Mich., the region’s largest indoor shopping center. Savona oversaw the center’s grand opening in 1998 as well as its transformation to an outlet center in 2010, a move that has resulted in record growth and sales.
Prior to that, Savona was general manager of Memorial City Mall in Houston for two years and, prior to that, assistant general manager of Woodfield Mall near Chicago for six years, where she helped manage the expansion and renovation of that center. She came to Chicago from Nashville, where she was assistant general manager of the then-newly constructed Bellevue Center. She also worked as a corporate buyer for Filene’s Department Store in Boston and for Dillard’s Department Store in Little Rock, Ark.
Prior to earning her certified shopping center manager designation, Savona earned a bachelor’s degree from Middle Tennessee State University and attended graduate school at Vanderbilt University.
“I’ve come full circle, personally and professionally,” Savona said in a release. “I love Tennessee, I know the area, and I’m looking forward to putting a wealth of industry experience to work here at
The Mall at Green Hills.”
