Gresham hires health care SVP
Architecture and engineering firm Gresham Smith and Partners has recruited a veteran executive to help lead its health care work.
Alan Sullivan's official title is senior vice president of health care services. He comes to Gresham after spending almost two and a half years at KZF Design in Cincinnati, where he created a health care division. During his three-decade career, Sullivan has worked on more than 80 private, academic and federal hospitals and medical facilities. At Gresham, which has a multidisciplinary health care team of about 200, he will focus on the expansion of Gresham’s federal portfolio while also contributing to overall growth in the sector.
“Alan is well-known in the health care industry as a trusted and respected leader for his clients and colleagues,” said Orlando Lopez-Isa, executive vice president at Gresham. “His master planning, design and consulting experience runs the gamut from large hospitals to imaging centers to physicians’ offices [...] We’re confident that his talent and strong business relationships will serve him well in his efforts to grow our firm’s federal health care portfolio and continue to improve client services across the board.”
Sullivan is a frequent speaker at health care conferences, where he has spoken on topics such as lean processes, efficient operating-room design and master planning for health care reform. He is a member of the American Institute of Architects' National Committee of Architects for Health and is one of 400 people across the country licensed by the American College of Healthcare Architects.
