Former Hartmann Luggage building fetches $2.65M
Greenbrier-based Love Properties and Care Line Inc., have closed on the purchase of the Hartmann Luggage facility in Lebanon.
The parcel, which totals 16.83 acres and contains a 159,000-square-foot building, fetched $2.65 million, according to Wilson County property records. Stan Snipes and Henry Menge of XMi Commercial Real Estate represented Samsonite International, the seller of the property, in the transaction.
"Care Line, Inc. is a family-run business that specializes in non-sterile kit packaging,” Snipes, president of Nashville-based XMi, said in a release. “Purchasing the Hartmann Luggage facility is a significant demonstration of their long-term commitment to Middle Tennessee and the local community.”
Samsonite International, which in 2012 both bought Hartmann Luggage for $35 million and almost immediately ceased its operations, intends to continue the Hartmann Luggage retail operations by leasing the on-site retail center. After moving to Wilson County in 1959, Hartmann would later transfer its manufacturing operations from Lebanon to China and South America while retaining the retail store.
