Music-and-beer festival headed here

Production company, magazine teaming on series that premiered last fall in Dallas

The producers of a series of festivals that link craft beer and independent music plans to hit up Nashville this fall when they venture outside Texas for the first time.

Untapped Festival premiered last September in Dallas, featuring about 50 breweries from around the country as well as a range of musicians. That event was produced solely by production company Spune, but future installments of the series are being co-produced by officials at Paste Media Group, which produces a monthly digital magazine in the Atlanta area. The first festival, branded Paste Untapped, will take place in Fort Worth in late April and will be headlined by Justin Townes Earle.

"We share a deep, abiding love for both independent music and craft beer — two things that are undoubtedly better together," the group said in a short statement on its website. "Paste Untapped will celebrate some of our favorite bands and our favorite beers at four cities in 2013."

In addition to a Nashville festival slated for October, the Paste Untapped team plans to organize events in Dallas this summer and in Atlanta in November. It is not known yet whether the organizers are partnering with any local breweries and/or event production companies to put on the local event. We have reached out to them and will update this story with more information as it becomes available.
