Nashville-based developer Brent Smith is ready to break ground any day on the six-story Village Green apartment building.
Slated for 2215 Abbott Martin Road and to be only partially visible from the street, the 64-unit building will offer two- and three-bedroom rental residences. It will feature two levels of above-grade parking and four floors of residences.
Construction of Village Green will require razing of two existing buildings. The new building will be an addition to the existing two-building Village Green Hills apartments and be located within the Green Hills commercial district.
Smith, who has created Village Green Apartments Partnership for the project, is using DA|AD for architectural work and giving the building, which will include structured parking, a primarily traditional look.
“We’re excited about this being an addition to the residential fabric of Green Hills that will help further foster a walkable environment within the commercial district,” Smith said.
Smith is using Southland Constructors for general contractor work and Barge Cauthen & Associates for engineering efforts. CapStar is providing financing.
“We want this to be as 100 percent of a Nashville project as possible,” he said.
Village Green Hills is located on the south side of Abbott Martin and almost catty-corner from the parking garage that accommodates the Dillard’s at The Mall at Green Hills. Smith was a member of the development team that oversaw the reinvention of the former Belle Meade Theater. That development, anchored by a Harris Teeter and including apartments and retail, is called Belle Meade Town Center.
