Area home numbers started 2013 on a positive note, according to Greater Nashville Association of Realtors figures.

For example, the median residential price for a single-family home in January was $167,000 up from the January 2012 mark by 6 percent. Similarly, the average condo in January sold for $150,000, up from the January 2012 mark of $140,325.

Pending sales were up as well, with 1,968 sales pending, well ahead of the 1,615 in January 2012.
