Saint Thomas Health names VP of operations for two hospitals

Former Baptist Hospital leader to also serve as chief nursing officer

Saint Thomas Health announced today it has named Jennifer Elliott vice president of clinical operations and chief nursing officer for both Saint Thomas West Hospital and Saint Thomas Midtown Hospital.

Most recently, Elliott served as vice president of clinical operations and chief nursing officer for Saint Thomas Midtown, formerly Baptist Hospital, working with senior leadership implementing strategic plans and objectives while also developing and maintaining patient-centered care initiatives in collaboration with the facility’s medical and hospital nursing staffs.

Elliott began her career in 2001 at Baptist Hospital, serving in various leadership roles including charge nurse, nurse manager and director of emergency services and critical care. She led the development of various projects including the formation of the Baptist Hospital transfer center and implementation of the computerized physician order entry technology in the emergency department.

Elliott received her degree from Tennessee State University and is currently completing a graduate degree at Bethel University. She is a member of the Tennessee Emergency Nurses Association and the American Nurses Association. Elliott also serves on several Davison County committees focused on disaster preparation.



The Tennessee Hospital Association named Elliott its Nurse Executive of the Year in 2011.
