Aquinas adds advancement VP

UT grad returning to Volunteer State from Purdue

Aquinas College has hired a vice president of advancement to boost its fundraising and alumni relations activity.

Andrew Shafer comes to Aquinas from Purdue University, where he was director of advancement in the College of Science. Before that, he was director of development and director of alumni at his alma mater, the University of Tennessee, where he earned a master’s degree in public administration.

“The advancement model is a good fit for me as it will allow us to make great strides in fundraising, communications and alumni relations,” Shafer said. “I am looking forward to implementing an advancement strategic plan while aggressively cultivating, soliciting and stewarding gifts to help keep Aquinas growing.”
