Pinnacle adds small biz SVP in Hendersonville

Longtime SunTrust exec had been running 16 Davidson, Sumner branches

Pinnacle Financial Partners has recruited a longtime SunTrust Bank manager to beef up its Sumner County presence.

Lee Campbell has joined 13-year-old Pinnacle as a senior vice president and financial advisor in the bank's small business advisory group. He is based at Pinnacle’s Hendersonville office. Campbell had spent 18 years at SunTrust Bank, most recently working as area manager for 16 of its branches in Sumner and Davidson counties. Before that, he was the branch manager of SunTrust’s main office in Nashville.

“Lee’s extensive financial services experience and knowledge of the Sumner County market will be great assets for our clients,” said Larry Whisenant, Pinnacle area manager for client services.

Campbell earned his bachelor’s degree in communications from Trevecca University and is a member of the board of Safe Haven Family Shelter.

News of Campbell's hiring comes just days after CapStar Bank said it had recruited a former First Advantage Bank senior executive to help it continue to build its Sumner County business in the wake of the acquisition of American Security Bank & Trust. In data released this week by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp., Sumner County showed deposit growth of about 4 percent to $2.56 billion in the year ended June 30. CapStar ranked ninth in market share with 5.1 percent, while Pinnacle was 14th with 3 percent.
