Veteran music industry official launches label

Warner Music Nashville will distribute HitShop Records releases

Music industry veteran executive Skip Bishop announced today the launch of music label HitShop Records during a press conference at Nashville’s Sirius XM Studios.

Warner Music Nashville will distribute the label's releases.

Bishop’s 40-year career in radio and records includes his serving as president and CEO of Bishop Bait & Tackle Marketing, and as senior vice president of promotion at RCA Records in New York, MCA Records in Los Angeles and Sony Music in Nashville.  

"This is one of the most innovative and creative gatherings of musical talent and staff I've ever seen,” Bishop (pictured) said in a release. “Everyone at HitShop is deeply committed and involved in studying the new paths music fans walk. We look forward to a productive relationship with Warner Music Nashville.”

Bishop has enlisted Diane Monk-Harrison to serve as vice president of promotion. The radio promotion staff will include East Cost Director Rick Baumgartner, West Coast Director Kelly Symone and Director of  Secondary Promotion and National Promotions Coordinator Will Hamrick.

A&R will be led by Emmy Award-winning composer Cliff Downs alongside Vice President of A&R Micah Wilshire.

Rounding out the HitShop team is National Director of Digital Marketing Tim Gerst and Senior Executive Assistant Amara Hall.

HitShop Records is part of Ramblin Music Group, whose holdings also include Young Guns Publishing.
