Bader to head up communications for major GOP group
Nashville native Jill Bader has been appointed by the Republican State Leadership Committee as that organization's communications director. The RSLC is based in Washington, D.C., and works to gain GOP seats in state government nationwide.
Bader spent several years on Capitol Hill as press secretary for Sen. Lamar Alexander and the Senate Republican Conference. She has also worked on the campaigns of Senators Alexander and Bob Corker and is former communications director for Gov. Scott Walker's campaign in Wisconsin. While working for Walker, she also headed press operations for Lt. Gov. Rebecca Kleefisch.
“On the heels of two record breaking election cycles, Jill’s outstanding record on Capitol Hill and in successful campaigns across the country make her a perfect fit as we continue to build upon our successes in electing Republicans to the office of attorney general, lieutenant governor, secretary of state and legislator," said RSLC President Chris Jankowski. "In addition, her strong personal and professional passion for supporting women's leadership development will be an invaluable asset as we work to grow our Right Women, Right Now initiative.”
After leaving Wisconsin to return to D.C., Bader joined the Girl Scouts of the USA as senior public policy and communications advisor, overseeing the organization's centennial celebrations on Capitol Hill and in state capitols nationwide. She was most recently in Tampa for the Romney campaign, serving as Florida communications director for the Republican National Committee.
