Pie in the Sky to become The Row

Midtown restaurant expected to appeal to music industry types, open in March

The Midtown building last home to Pie in the Sky pizza eatery will be closed after today for a rehabbing to house The Row.

Offering a Music Row-oriented design vibe and a menu inspired by Southern dishes, The Row is expected to open in early March. Kelly Black, Pie in the Sky owner, will also own The Row.

“We’ve been working on this for six months,” Black said. “We’re aiming at creating the type place that Music Row people enjoyed in the past. We have a Music Row historian that is helping.”

Black has hired Robert Foriest as general manager and Garrett Pittler as executive chef. The renovation, a permit for which has been pulled, is slated to cost about $110,000. Retail Builders Inc. will handle the rehabbing of the building, which is located at 110 Lyle Ave. and a half-block from West End Avenue.

Black said he is looking for another location for Pie in the Sky, which operates in two other suburban locations.
