Area home numbers stabilized nicely in 2012, with many positive numbers and only a few stagnant statistics, according to Greater Nashville Association of Realtors figures.
For example, the median residential price for a single-family home during December was $187,900 up from the November mark of $179,900. In contrast, the average condo in December sold for $149,178, down from the November mark of $152,000.
By December’s end, inventory for single-family homes stood at 9,115. This compares to the January 2012 mark of 10,971. Tightening inventory often is good for the home-building business.
GNAR reported 2,147 home closings in December, down from the 2,198 home closings in November.
