Symbion names development, planning VPs

Surgery center chain also promotes two to AVP

Surgery center operator Symbion has promoted a number of its executive and managerial employees, naming two of them to vice president.

Chad Baldwin has been promoted to vice president of acquisitions and development. He previously served as assistant VP and has been with Symbion since mid-2008, when he joined the company from the former Psychiatric Solutions. He will become part of the team run by Kenneth Mitchell, Symbion’s former CFO who has run the company’s M&A group for more than five years.

Separately, Lauren Whitsett has been named VP of product line planning. She also was previously an assistant VP and has worked at Symbion since August 2006.

Symbion, which runs about 65 surgery centers in 27 states around the country, also has promoted two directors to assistant VPs. They are Adam Gleaves, who was previously director of risk and insurance, and Nita Hill, who had been a benefits director.
