Former Sundance Channel official has 20-plus years of media industry experience

CMT has tapped creative and branding veteran Peter Mannes to serve as vice president of creative services.

Dee McLaughlin, CMT senior vice president of brand strategy, marketing and creative, said Mannes (pictured) will direct the efforts of the creative team in the creation, planning, development and production of all on- and off-air production and graphics for CMT.

Mannes will be based in Nashville.

“From award winning promo work, to his successful brand campaign executions, to his vast experience working with other nets, Peter’s broad skillset is exactly the synergy we were seeking ” McLaughlin said in release.

With more than 20 years in the media industry, Mannes comes to CMT from Sundance Channel, where he was director of brand marketing. Prior to Sundance, Mannes was founder of Argot Media, a full-service creative production agency at which he produced creative rebrands of multiple TV networks, including History Channel, Biography, Bloomberg Television and Sí TV.

Mannes also held the position of vice president of production for Global Media Holdings/Global Japan, at which he supervised production of all on-air promos, series, specials, print and marketing projects for the launch and operation of two television networks developed for the Japanese market, SheTV and SF.  Earlier in his career, Mannes served as a production manager for MTV Networks, which included working on the re-launch of MTV Asia.

Mannes graduated from Northwestern University.
