Stites names two partners, two to counsel roles

IP, creditors' rights specialists added to member rolls

The downtown office of regional law firm Stites & Harbison has named two attorneys members and promoted two to counsel.

Joining Stites’ member ranks are William Ferrell Jr. and Madison Martin. Ferrell (top left in our photo) is a part of the firm’s intellectual property and technology practice.  He holds a degree in mechanical engineering handles patent litigation as well as matters related to patent drafting, patent prosecution and other IP-related work.

Martin, top right in our photo, is a member of Stites’ creditors’ rights and bankruptcy group.  She concentrates on commercial bankruptcy matters as well as out-of-court restructurings and distressed asset sales.

Stites also named two attorneys counsel. They are Jennifer Kovalcik, also a member of the firm’s IP and technology group, and business litigator Brian Neal. Kovalcik concentrates on designing and implementing IP protection plans, enforcing IP assets and software licensing. She also works with U.S. Customs & Border Protection to enforce trademarks through seizure orders. Neal’s work focuses on complex commercial disputes, bad-faith insurance defense, products liability and general litigation.

Stites' Middle Tennessee operation is home to about 50 attorneys and includes a small outpost in downtown Franklin. The firm also runs offices in Kentucky, Indiana, Georgia and Virginia.
