DoubleTree to undergo $1.5M interior update
Downtown’s DoubleTree hotel is preparing to undergo an approximately $1.5 million interior update.
To begin Nov. 17, the “soft” renovation will include, among others, the replacement of furnishings and carpet in the lobby, restaurant and lounge areas and updates to guest rooms, according to Denise C. Tinney, the hotel’s director of sales and marketing.
“The displacement [of guests] will be minimal as we will only take two floors out at a time,” Tinney said. “The renovation will not be obtrusive as there will not be any table saws, jack hammers, nail guns, etc., to complete the work.”
Completion is set for January 2013. The improvements come only four years after the DoubleTree by Hilton Nashville-Downtown, located at 315 Fourth Ave. N., saw an approximately $5 million facelift in 2008. The hotel's plans are the latest in a recent string of interior jobs done at downtown Nashville properties as owner gear up for the arrival of the Music City Center.
Cordova, Tenn.-based Wright Investment Properties and AEW Capital Management, which is located in Boston, bought the DoubleTree in 2007.
