Jimmy John's heading for Fifth Third Center

Sandwich shop to take space next to Starbucks

Construction will begin this month on a Jimmy John's store on the ground floor of downtown's Fifth Third Center.

The gourmet sandwich shop will take the vacant space next to the building's Starbucks cafe in addition to existing space that now houses a deli, according to Eakin Partner's Tim Hickey, who brokered the deal.

An October opening is scheduled for the restaurant chain, which has eight other Middle Tennessee locations, including one in Nashville on West End near Vanderbilt University.

The Fifth Third Center is owned by Denver-based Amstar Group. Its large tenants include law firms Adams and Reese and Dicksinson Wright as well as dialysis provider DSI Renal and signage-rights tenant Fifth Third Bank.
