Saint Thomas Health names CFO

Craig Polkow brings varied financial management background to position

Saint Thomas Health announced today it has named Craig Polkow chief financial officer of the five-hospital health system.

Polkow, who previously held both CFO and chief operating officer positions at Saint Thomas Hospital, has more than 20 years of management experience with expertise in both operations and finance. 

In his new role, Polkow (pictured) will oversee and direct all financial functions for Saint Thomas Health’s hospitals, joint ventures and affiliate relationships.

Previously, Polkow was CFO for Dupont Hospital, serving as interim chief executive officer. Dupont Hospital is part of the Lutheran Health System in Fort Wayne, Ind. 

Polkow also held the CFO roles at DeKalb Memorial Hospital in Auburn, Ind., and Madison Center in South Bend, Ind.

Polkow received his Bachelor of Science degree in economics and his Master of Business Administration degree, both from Indiana University at South Bend. He received his public accounting certification in 1990. 

Polkow has served in adjunct faculty positions at IUSB, Tri-State University, Concordia University and the University of Phoenix.
