Former Tennessee Titans community relations manager Tresa Halbrooks is launching a niche public relations and events firm.
Legacy Consulting, PR & Events debuts with a client roster of pro athletes and entertainers as well as corporate entities, including former Titan Kevin Carter, Jay DeMarcus of Rascal Flatts, St. Thomas Hospital, Gigi's Cupcakes and the YWCA of Middle Tennessee.
The firm will also provide consulting to SOTL.com, the NFL Players Association's social-media partner.
One of Legacy's first major events is Farm To Table, a benefit from Titans linebacker — and sustainability farmer — Will Witherspoon. Farm To Table will benefit Second Harvest Food Bank, bringing together local chefs and farmers to create a unique dining experience and educate patrons on sustainable food and healthier living.
"I’m so grateful for the corporate road I traveled that allowed me to weave the best in sports and entertainment together," said Halbrooks. "My past experience has been the perfect combination of ingredients that allowed me to start my own firm. I’m thrilled to take on new challenges as each of my clients present something different, a need or desire to make their mark in the industry. But my philosophy is about more than making a mark; it’s about truly creating something that lasts beyond our lifetime – a legacy."
Prior to joining the Titans in 2001, Halbrooks was senior manager of community relations for Gaylord Entertainment Company.
