Avenue adds to chief credit officer's role

Co-founder named to new umbrella role; bank promotes four others

The leaders of Avenue Bank have named Chief Credit Officer Andy Moats to a newly created bank group director position that will oversee a number of the five-year-old lender’s divisions.

In his new role, Moats — who will retain his credit leadership role — will manage Avenue’s private client banking team and its music and entertainment division. The former had been run by Vickie Storm, who left the bank earlier this year. Moats also will lead Avenue’s push to grow its small-business banking books and oversee its retail banking growth and client service efforts.

Moats joined Avenue Bank when it was being organized in the fall of 2006 and was named chief credit officer in 2010.

Avenue officials led by Chairman and CEO Ron Samuels also announced a number of other promotions:

• Aaron Dorn has been named vice president and director of concierge banking and will run Avenue’s retail banking team and four branches. He also was part of the team that started Avenue Bank in 2006 and in June rejoined the bank after a stint in the U.S. Marine Corps, where he achieved the rank of first lieutenant.

• Mallory Bishop has been promoted to assistant vice president and West End branch manager. She joined Avenue in 2009.

• Chris Schlueter has been promoted to business banking manager and is responsible for the bank’s new team dedicated to small business owners and their companies. He had managed the bank’s West End location since it opened in 2008.

• John Moore has been promoted to senior vice president and private client banking manager. He joined Avenue when it opened in July of 2007.
