Metova names development director

App specialist also adds three to staff

Mobile application developer Metova has promoted four-year company veteran Dave Lane to director of development.

In his new role, Lane will lead Metova’s smartphone and tablet development projects, ensuring quality control and eliminating roadblocks. He previously was one of the six-year-old company’s lead developers.

“For the last four years, Dave has continually improved our systems and development tools,” said Kevin Ross, president and founder of Metova, one of this year’s Nashville Post Fast 15. “His dedication, genuine passion for technology and commitment to self improvement has led to this much-deserved promotion.”

Before joining Cool Springs-based Metova, Lane (pictured here) was a web developer at High Caliber Services in Cookeville, where he oversaw a lean inventory management system, maintaining quality control and employee management systems. He has a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Tennessee Technological University.

Metova officials, who have more than 150 clients, also said they have hired three developers, lifting their total employee count to 25.

Matthew Blumenschein is a 2012 graduate of Vanderbilt University. There, he studied computer science and mathematics and gained Web development experience by creating a module for a “Vanderbilt Events” mobile app.

Isaiah Nelson has three years of experience developing in C# and .NET programming languages. He joins Metova from Ingram Content Group, where he worked as a programmer and analyst, developing new software for the organization. He also previously worked as a software engineer at Kroll Background Screening and as a developer at Mind Over Code.

Kevin Nguyen received a master’s degree in electrical and computer engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology and a bachelor’s in electrical engineering from the University of Washington. While getting his master’s, Nguyen worked for The Boeing Company, first as a systems engineer and later as a communications engineer.
