Housing nonprofit names new executive director

Gildemeister moves from Harpeth Hall

Nashville rental-assistance nonprofit Rooftop has named Julia Gildemeister as its executive director.

Gildemeister moves from Harpeth Hall School, where she was manager of human resources and payroll. She has also previously worked as director of finance and business at Currey Ingram Academy and as senior accountant at Vanderbilt Home Care Services.

“We are pleased to welcome Julia as our new executive director,” said Danny Rhodes, board president of Rooftop. “I am confident that her talents and experience will help us to achieve our mission of preventing homelessness and providing hope.”

Gildemeister has been active in community organizations including West End Day School, Westminster School of Nashville, and YWCA of Nashville and Middle Tennessee. She received a bachelor of arts degree from Salem College and a master of business administration degree from Vanderbilt's Owen Graduate School of Management.

Rooftop was launched in the spring of 2006 and has since helped more than 1,000 families and individuals.
