Counsel On Call lands equity investment
Nashville-based legal services provider Counsel On Call has gotten a financial boost with an equity investment by Claritas Capital.
The funding amount is not being made public, but Claritas’ cash will help Counsel On Call further develop its service offerings, expand in new markets and hire corporate personnel, according to the company.
"Counsel On Call is a trailblazing company in the legal services industry that has produced consistent, dynamic growth since it was founded in 2000," said Don McLemore, managing director at Claritas. "With an impressive list of institutional clients that includes many of the nation's largest companies and the demand for their services increasing, we are eager to support the company's continued high growth."
Counsel On Call is also headquartered in Nashville and has offices in Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas and Memphis as well as standalone managed service centers in Atlanta, Dallas and Nashville.
"Claritas Capital's expertise in similar industries, as well as in assisting companies of our size grow in a smart manner, is very attractive," said President and founder Jane Allen. "As we seek to develop new services and expand relationships, Claritas will be an invaluable partner."
Burton Hills-based Claritas puts money to work in the form of venture capital, mezzanine funding and real estate investment. Among other local companies backed by the firm, which also has an office in Irvine, Calif., are Cybera, Edo Interactive and Entrada.
