Regions Bank added to its business lending ranks a former SunTrust exec who will focus on core commercial and industrial loans.

Commercial Banking Relationship Manager Ned Spitzer comes to Regions, the largest deposit holder in Middle Tennessee, from SunTrust Bank. There, he was first vice president of commercial banking for the Nashville area. Spitzer also has worked at First Tennessee Bank, the Clayton Torch Fund and First American National Bank. A University of Tennessee graduate, he has served on the boards of Second Harvest Food Bank, the Nashville Chamber of Commerce Partnership 2020 and the United Way of Metropolitan Nashville, among others.

Adding Spitzer will help Regions offset the loss earlier this year to FirstBank of veteran commercial banker Allen Oakley and several other lenders. Since then, the bank has brought to the region a California trust executive and taken over a senior health care banker from its former Morgan Keegan unit.
