Ingram’s DBI distributorship names new CEO

COO promoted as Daniel moves into vice chairman role

DBI Beverage Inc., one of California’s largest beverage distributors, has named Jeffrey D. Skinner chief executive officer.

Skinner takes the place of Donnie Daniel, who has been named vice chairman of 10-year-old DBI. The company remains chaired and owned by David Ingram, who also owns distribution giant Ingram Entertainment. Earlier this week, Ingram stepped aside as CEO of that company.

Skinner most recently was COO of DBI. He has worked in the Ingram family of companies for 25 years and was DBI’s CFO at its launch in 2002 before being named COO four years ago.

“Jeff has been a key part of the substantial growth DBI Beverage has experienced in its 10-year history. We look forward to maintaining this momentum under Jeff’s leadership,” said Ingram.

DBI owns distributorships in eight Northern California markets and handled 25 million cases per year. In 2011, the company had about $450 million in total revenues.
